Aerial Composites
Suburban sprawl, freeways, and industrial zones cut through nature’s boundaries. Insect epidemics, fires, and forest management practices turn familiar landscapes into unrecognizable scenes. Human’s heavy hand, whether intentionally or unintentionally, alters its environment in the name of progress. Although civilization needs housing, transportation, and materials to persevere, it is time to look at our systems from a new perspective. Through these aerial composites, I explore how the natural world confronts modern society. These images were created by using manual blending methods and Photoshop’s Photomerge feature. Each composite consists of roughly 25 – 65 photographs.
